Massachusetts Voters Overwhelmingly Support Banning the Sale of Cell Phone Location Data

Just how private is your cell phone’s location data? A new poll conducted by American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts and Beacon Research found that only one-in-three voters know companies can sell their cellphone location data. The poll, conducted as part of the ACLU of MA’s new “Your Location, It’s None of Their Business” campaign, also found that voters are strongly against the sale of location data, with 92% supporting a law that would ban the practice.
